Terms of Use
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Affinity Life Inc. is an insurance marketing agency. Insurance products are offered through Philip Setter, a life insurance agent licensed in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and New Brunswick. Affinity Life Inc. is not itself a licensed insurance agency.
Please read these Terms of Use before using affinitylife.ca (the "website"). Using the website means you accept these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the website. We may update these terms, and the date above shows when they last changed. If you keep using the website after a change, you accept the updated terms.
1. Information, not advice
The articles, guides, checklists, videos and calculators on this website are general education. They are not personal insurance, legal, tax or financial advice. Your situation may be different, so talk to a licensed advisor before you make a decision. Philip is happy to do that with you on a free call.
2. Quotes and estimates
- Estimates are not offers. Prices from the climber estimator, the coverage calculator, the quoting tool and our articles are estimates based on the details you enter and on rates we believe were current when we published them.
- Your final price is set by the insurer after it reviews your application (underwriting). The final price, coverage amount, and whether coverage is offered at all can differ from the estimate.
- Eligibility varies. Plan availability, maximum coverage amounts and age limits vary by insurer, and insurers can change products and rates at any time.
- Stacking plans: when we suggest combining plans from more than one insurer, each policy is a separate contract with its own terms, exclusions and premium.
- Needs calculator: it uses general assumptions and may not reflect everything you need to plan for.
3. Applying through the website
When you submit a form, questionnaire or application, you agree that the information you give is true and complete to the best of your knowledge. You agree that we may share it with the insurer you choose so it can underwrite your application, and that Philip may contact you to complete the process. If information on an application is incomplete or inaccurate, the insurer may change or cancel your coverage or deny a claim. Coverage is only in force once the insurer approves it and any conditions in the policy are met. We can only arrange coverage for residents of the provinces where Philip is licensed.
4. Reviews and testimonials
The reviews on this website come from our Google Business Profile or were given to us by real clients. They describe those clients' own experiences. Your results, pricing and underwriting outcome may be different.
5. Links to other websites
We link to other sites, such as YouTube, Google and insurance company websites, for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices.
6. Intellectual property
Unless we say otherwise, the content on this website, including text, graphics, videos, guides and the Affinity Life name and logo, belongs to Affinity Life Inc. You may share links and quote short passages with credit. You may not copy, republish or sell our content without written permission. Insurance company names and logos are the trademarks of their owners.
7. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the website. That includes submitting false information or information about another person without their permission, trying to access systems you aren't authorized to use, scraping, or interfering with how the site works.
8. Limitation of liability
We work to keep the website accurate and up to date, but it is provided "as is". We can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free or complete. As far as the law allows, Affinity Life Inc. and Philip Setter are not responsible for losses that come from using, or not being able to use, the website or relying on its general content. This section does not limit any duty a licensed agent owes you when giving you personal advice or arranging a policy, or any right you have under your policy or consumer protection law.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. Details about our licensing, compensation and complaint process are in our Client Disclosure.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If a consumer protection law in your province gives you rights that these terms can't override, you keep those rights.
